Oranj Fitness is located in the Grande Banks Development across from the Coca Cola Centre. We offer 100 classes each week including: fitness, spin, dance and yoga classes... even Hot Yoga! There are plenty of great options to choose from and ways to get involved. With lots of fun extras like child minding, fresh fruit superfood smoothies and a custom retail store, there are so many great reasons to pop into our studio and say 'hello!'

Arlene Letemplier - Yoga Instructor

Arlene came to Grande Prairie for a visit over 20 years ago, she never left and is still loving this town. She was interested in yoga long before she started practicing. Arlene took her yoga teacher training with the intention to deepen her personal practice but soon discovered that she loved to share her passion with others.  She has a passion for the mind body connection that comes with yoga, and since practicing Arlene has noticed so many benefits in her life both on and off her mat. Arlene can't wait to see you on your mat and help you make that connection. 

Becky Unger - Yoga Instructor

Becky was born and raised in the Grande Prairie area, where she has lived here her whole life. She started taking yoga due to an injury and fell in love with it. Becky took her yoga teacher training through the Yoga Association of Alberta. She loves learning about nutrition, health, and energy healing and she is currently working on becoming a certified life coach. Becky loves how yoga connects the body, mind, and soul and allows people to connect with their true essence. She is passionate about cross training, boxing, running and things alike.  

Becky is engaged and will be tying the knot in 2018, this year she is headed to Iceland to scope out wedding locations! Becky and her man love to travel and try to go somewhere new every year. They have been to Bali, Panama, Columbia, Australia, and Mexico. They also have two dogs and a cat. Becky believes in taking things one day at a time, being the best that you can be in the moment and loving and learning along the way. She is excited to part of the oranj family. 

Deanne Smith - Yoga Instructor

Deanne was born and raised in Grande Prairie, playing every sport she could and anything that involved playing in the mountains. Deanne is a very creative person and this creativity spills over into many aspects of her life, including her yoga classes. Deanne is also a Registered Massage Therapist with special training as an exercise therapy specialist and has experience in rehab settings with the health region. Her most recent course completed is Thai massage, which she loves to throw into her yoga adjustments.  She loves her community and the mosaic of people that it comprises. She is excited to be a part of growing a new community with the oranj fitness tribe. She believes that when a community is vibrant, magical things can happen. She met the love of her life in a sporting goods store and they have been married for 21 years. Deanne is a proud mom of 3 awesome/tough/happy/moody/fun teens (depending on the day), and she wouldn't have it any other way. Life is a wild ride; you never know where it will take you. Show up and trust the process.

Erin Post - Fitness Instructor

Erin took her first fitness class in college was instantly hooked... much to the surprise of her high school phys ed teachers, a fitness instructor emerged! In 2006, Erin was in two car accidents causing neck and back injuries. This helps her to understand barriers and challenges others face while trying to start or maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. Erin’s passions include her two children, travel to sand and sun, learning Spanish, and a chick flick with a glass of wine. While traveling, she guest instructs, most recently, twice in Cozumel, Mexico!

Erin currently instructs Zumba, barre, spin, strength training, water fitness and everything in between. She has spent a number of years as an AFLCA Assistant Trainer mentoring new instructors and helping them succeed in the industry.

In 16 years of instructing, after many courses and workshops!  Erin is an AFLCA Group Exercise Instructor for cycling, step, choreography, portable equipment, and mind/body. She is also certified as an AFLCA Resistance Training Instructor, a WaterArt Aquatic Fitness Instructor, a Zumba Certified Instructor, and holds certifications for B1, B2, Pro Skills and Zumba Kids!  You can definitely say she's well rounded!  Come in to the studio and say hi to Erin next time you're in ~ she's always smiling and will make you feel at home right away!

Helen Sanderson - Fitness Instructor

Helen grew up in Calgary and Medicine Hat where she was outdoors as much as she could. At a young age she discovered a love for soccer which she played through high school. Unfortunately, a recurring knee injury eventually stopped her from continuing to play women's league. This injury is also what took her down the path she is now on! After physiotherapy she worked with a personal trainer, and she realized what a huge difference it made for her to have that person who knew how to work to strengthen without causing any further issues. She decided she wanted to help people overcome not only physical limitations, but any mental limitations. Whether it is thinking you could never run that race or someone else telling you that you should set your goals lower, she will help you Prove Them Wrong! After moving up to Grande Prairie for her husbands work it seemed fate that the GPRC had the Fitness Leadership Diploma. Helen is now a CSEP Certified Personal Trainer and has taken additional certifications through AFLCA to work with Older Adults, group classes, and TRX. She is currently working on a Doggie Bootcamp as the only thing she loves more than fitness is dogs! You will likely find her out training on the trails for the next race she is running, with her baby daughter and dogs in tow!

Jill Conroy - Studio Manager, Community Leader, Yoga Instructor

Jill grew up in Kelowna BC, and was a long time guest at the oranj fitness studio there.  A dental assistant for over 10 years, she never dreamed that moving to Grande Prairie for love in 2014 would propel her into a completely new career!  Jill has been working for oranj since October 2015 is excited to be a part of opening and running the fourth of 55 studios by 2020!   Her yoga classes will leave you feeling refreshed and grateful to be here in Grande Prairie – she has fallen in love with this city and the people that make it beautiful. If you know Jill, you know that her love for community and fun run deep.  She is always trying to support local businesses, connect people that work well together, and strive toward the greater good of the whole.  Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 solidified her passion to create ‘unity in community’, and when oranj fitness founder Sheila Chutskoff hired her as the Grande Prairie Community Leader, Jill knew she had found her home!  You are sure to find Jill in a new adventure every week:  hiking / camping with her man and her dog, going to concerts, yoga dates with friends, cruiser rides through town, checking out live productions… she’s always up for something new!  Come say hi – you’re bound to make a new friend and connections to help you achieve your goals!

Kayla French - Barre & Fitness Instructor

Kayla is from beautiful Burnaby, BC.  She loves to be active and strives to inspire others to enjoy all aspects of movements ~ simple and/or complex. Working towards her ACE Group Fitness Certification, Kayla is a fan of all fitness classes right now!  You'll find her in spin, HIIT, Tabata, yoga, bootcamp... pretty much anything across the board!   You may even find her in our 2017 Yoga Teacher Training... she's sure to be a well rounded instructor at oranj!
 
Kayla has two little people who call her mom. Her daughter (Audrina Bella) participates in local cheerleading, while her son (Killian) is dreaming of playing football. These two little beings keep Kayla inspired everyday to be the best version of herself. Kayla's spouse has always supported her larger than life ideas and has always chased every dream right along side her. Together they have two amazing dogs at home; an eleven years young pitbull Bullet and a beautiful mastiff Belle. 
 
Kayla loves that oranj offers such a supportive community. Our vision is to create a world where the status quo is boogying, and to Kayla that means having everyone succeed in their goals (whether you are a trainer or a guest at oranj).  It's important to all of us that you feel welcome and at home. Kayla is so very excited to be teaching Barre as it teaches simple and complex versions of movement, supporting lean muscles for the dancer body that everyone dreams of.  She's passionate about body compositions, and loves the variety of classes available at oranj.  Ask Kayla about her own fitness journey ~ you'll be amazed at how she's chosen to reshape her life and start fresh already!

Kellie Timmins - Yoga Instructor

Kellie, a visionary and active proponent of balanced, whole hearted living, discovered yoga approximately 6 years ago.  Kellie’s love of teaching and leading classes has been evident in the past 25 years as a certified group fitness instructor.  Amazed at how yoga and meditation alleviated the stresses of running a busy family of six, she began practicing more regularly and eventually began studying the ancient practice.

As a certified health coach, food enthusiast, dog lover and yoga teacher, Kellie is on a mission to build a community of vibrant, healthy, and happy families. By empowering them to cook more whole foods at home, get moving more frequently and learning to breathe, she truly believes we can create a life of prevention and wellness.

 

Sheena Robinson - Yoga Instructor

Long time resident of Grande Prairie Sheena started practicing yoga to heal from personal loss and grief. Later on she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education but decided to explore options in yoga instead. Trained under Pedro Franco in Tantra- Hatha; Sheena seeks to use yoga and meditation to bring healing and harmony to her surroundings. Married; a mother to two Pomeranians and a cat; she has a fondness for cooking and fine-dining (and tortilla wrapped foods). Favouring mermaids above all mythical creatures, learn to let go and shine with Sheena.

 

Sheila Chutskoff - Founder, Studio Manager, Yoga Instructor

A born entrepreneur, Sheila Chutskoff is the founder of oranj fitness, as well as a yoga instructor, public speaking guru and goal coach. When Sheila graduated from Royal Roads University in 2002, she immediately started working at lululemon athletica what was then a small, privately owned yoga apparel company. In the beginning, lululemon had less than 100 employees and only four stores. Sheila worked with lululemon for more than six years, during which time she helped take it from four stores to over 150. Her blissful lululemon life consisted of managing stores, being the regional marketing manager for Western Canada and working with all of lululemons Olympic athletes. In October 2007 Sheila decided to venture out on her own and achieve her long-time dream opening her own studio oranj fitness. Sheila has spent more than seven years coaching staff and friends on how to achieve their goals. Her true passion is seeing everyone around her succeed in life. A person who is achieving his or her own goals in life is a happier employee, friend and loved one too. In her day-to-day encounters with people, Sheila makes it abundantly clear how much it means to her that she see them succeed.
