Oranj Fitness is located in the Grande Banks Development across from the Coca Cola Centre. We offer 100 classes each week including: fitness, spin, dance and yoga classes... even Hot Yoga! There are plenty of great options to choose from and ways to get involved. With lots of fun extras like child minding, fresh fruit superfood smoothies and a custom retail store, there are so many great reasons to pop into our studio and say 'hello!'

Our Family

Aina Schnelle - Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Superstar, and Pound Pro!

Aina moved to Grande Prairie in late 2011 from Kamloops BC. Having started life in Europe and moved to Canada when she was 7, she has always had a wanderlust spirit. She loves to travel to new places discovering beautiful things and people. Aina grew up in a Yoga family as both her parents are instructors and owned a studio, so in typical fashion she rebelled and took the dance route!  She still loves to dance around everywhere... you may see her dancing around the studio!

In recent years Aina has found a passion for Yoga and weight training. She loves to sweat everyday - if it's a challenge, she's up for it!  Aina's favourite classes to teach are POUND® and strength bootcamps, but she also loves teaching Barre, cardio... all of the classes!  She recently added Yoga Teacher Training to her list of talents ~ Aina is a force to be reckoned with!  Her main goal in life is to have an impact on others.  If you need cheerleader… Aina is your girl!

Becky Unger - Yoga Instructor

Becky was born and raised in the Grande Prairie area, where she has lived here her whole life. She started taking yoga due to an injury and fell in love with it. Becky took her yoga teacher training through the Yoga Association of Alberta. She loves learning about nutrition, health, and energy healing and she is currently working on becoming a certified life coach. Becky loves how yoga connects the body, mind, and soul and allows people to connect with their true essence. She is passionate about cross training, boxing, running and things alike.  

Becky is engaged and will be tying the knot in 2018, this year she is headed to Iceland to scope out wedding locations! Becky and her man love to travel and try to go somewhere new every year. They have been to Bali, Panama, Columbia, Australia, and Mexico. They also have two dogs and a cat. Becky believes in taking things one day at a time, being the best that you can be in the moment and loving and learning along the way. She is excited to part of the oranj family. 

Deanne Smith - Yoga Instructor

Deanne was born and raised in Grande Prairie, playing every sport she could and anything that involved playing in the mountains. Deanne is a very creative person and this creativity spills over into many aspects of her life, including her yoga classes. Deanne is also a Registered Massage Therapist with special training as an exercise therapy specialist and has experience in rehab settings with the health region. Her most recent course completed is Thai massage, which she loves to throw into her yoga adjustments.  She loves her community and the mosaic of people that it comprises. She is excited to be a part of growing a new community with the oranj fitness tribe. She believes that when a community is vibrant, magical things can happen. She met the love of her life in a sporting goods store and they have been married for 21 years. Deanne is a proud mom of 3 awesome/tough/happy/moody/fun teens (depending on the day), and she wouldn't have it any other way. Life is a wild ride; you never know where it will take you. Show up and trust the process.

Jill Conroy - Studio Manager, Community Leader, Yoga Instructor

Jill grew up in Kelowna BC, and was a long time guest at the oranj fitness studio there.  A dental assistant for over 10 years, she never dreamed that moving to Grande Prairie for love in 2014 would propel her into a completely new career!  Jill has been working for oranj since October 2015 is excited to be a part of opening and running the fourth of 55 studios by 2020!   Her yoga classes will leave you feeling refreshed and grateful to be here in Grande Prairie – she has fallen in love with this city and the people that make it beautiful. If you know Jill, you know that her love for community and fun run deep.  She is always trying to support local businesses, connect people that work well together, and strive toward the greater good of the whole.  Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 solidified her passion to create ‘unity in community’, and when oranj fitness founder Sheila Chutskoff hired her as the Grande Prairie Community Leader, Jill knew she had found her home!  You are sure to find Jill in a new adventure every week:  hiking / camping with her man and her dog, going to concerts, yoga dates with friends, cruiser rides through town, checking out live productions… she’s always up for something new!  Come say hi – you’re bound to make a new friend and connections to help you achieve your goals!

Kayla French - Barre & Fitness Instructor

Kayla is from beautiful Burnaby, BC.  She loves to be active and strives to inspire others to enjoy all aspects of movements ~ simple and/or complex. Working towards her ACE Group Fitness Certification, Kayla is a fan of all fitness classes right now!  You'll find her in spin, HIIT, Tabata, yoga, bootcamp... pretty much anything across the board!   You may even find her in our 2017 Yoga Teacher Training... she's sure to be a well rounded instructor at oranj!
Kayla has two little people who call her mom. Her daughter (Audrina Bella) participates in local cheerleading, while her son (Killian) is dreaming of playing football. These two little beings keep Kayla inspired everyday to be the best version of herself. Kayla's spouse has always supported her larger than life ideas and has always chased every dream right along side her. Together they have two amazing dogs at home; an eleven years young pitbull Bullet and a beautiful mastiff Belle. 
Kayla loves that oranj offers such a supportive community. Our vision is to create a world where the status quo is boogying, and to Kayla that means having everyone succeed in their goals (whether you are a trainer or a guest at oranj).  It's important to all of us that you feel welcome and at home. Kayla is so very excited to be teaching Barre as it teaches simple and complex versions of movement, supporting lean muscles for the dancer body that everyone dreams of.  She's passionate about body compositions, and loves the variety of classes available at oranj.  Ask Kayla about her own fitness journey ~ you'll be amazed at how she's chosen to reshape her life and start fresh already!

We're so excited to be welcoming Alyce to our tribe!  A compassionate, knowledgeable yoga and fitness instructor, Alyce has a genuine interest in helping others achieve their highest level of mental and physical health.

Donna Gauvin - Group Fitness Mentor & Personal Trainer

Donna has enjoyed over 10 years in the fitness industry!  Her passion lies in motivating, educating and helping clients reach their goals, no matter how lofty they feel!

Donna stumbled upon her fitness career after a 2 year struggle to get healthy and fit.  She was over 200lbs, unhealthy and not a happy person.
One day she realized that her life had to change if she wanted to be happy and healthy!!  She hired a personal trainer and got to work! He pushed her hard and drilled into her head that changing her habits and thinking were imperative to her health.  It was hard, really hard, but that experience has made Donna the strong person and trainer she is today!!
It is now her goal to pay it forward to our guests and help them find the strong, fit body inside of them all. Everyone deserves to be healthy and happy!!  Donna now enjoys a fit lifestyle that includes anything that moves her body and puts a smile on her face...  and if you've already met her you know that smile is always there!

Katy Niksic - Yoga Instructor

As Katy says, "No matter where you go, when you unroll your mat, you are home."

Katy loves how yoga allows us to indulge in our playful / creative sides through movement, gives us an amazing opportunity to stay in the present moment and allows us the chance to forget about our to-do lists. Her classes will typically involve an element of play within them, from arm balances to flowing sequences and different breathing (pranayama) techniques.


Katy's own daily practice started in hopes of healing a neck injury received from a car crash. She has gained much more than increased mobility from her practice, and now says she cannot imagine her life without yoga. Katy's asana practice has also greatly increased what she can bring to the mountains, whether on a snowboard or her mountain bike... her riding has never been this good thanks to Virabhadrassana II!

Lisa Klein-Gebbinck - Yoga Teacher

Lisa is one of the Grande Prairie unicorns... born and raised right here in town!  We are loving her calm, confident presence as she's teaching more and more yoga with us, and we can't wait for you to get to know her!  
Look for Lisa on our schedule and you're sure to feel like you're floating on your way out of the studio.  If you're lucky enough to snag a spot in one of her Yin classes get ready for a special treat!  You may be so relaxed you'll need to call for a ride home!

Miria Lovlin - Yoga Teacher & Auyervedic Practitioner

Miria's teaching extends through various forms of yoga, but she has specialized in and dedicated most of her classes to traditional Hatha. Her education in yoga began over a decade ago, and has taken her to India and back in her search for a holistic approach.
Miria's passion reaches beyond the physical aspects of yoga and into the ancient philosophy and traditions behind it. Just as she has sought a holistic education for her own practice, she guides her classes in the same manner. Miria aims to teach more than constructive guidance of the physical practice in a yoga class... her goal is to create a connection to the subtle energies that exist within all of us!  Join her on the mat to deepen your own practice, and leave class with a greater sense of calm than you came with!

Nikala Schiebelbein - Group Fitness Leader, Yoga Teacher & Personal Trainer

Nikala is one of our rockstar fitness AND yoga certified instructors, and she's here to motivate you to hit every one of your goals!  She's been CANFIT PRO certified since 2006, and has been personal training in Grande Prairie for years.  Nikala brings her passion for health into our group fitness world with classes in every genre.
Nikala's fitness history includes figure skating competitively for 13 years, marathon running, and keeping up with her girls at home.  Her favourite class to teach here is "spin, because it's more like a party and it's the best class ever!"

Sheila Chutskoff - Founder, Studio Manager, Yoga Instructor

A born entrepreneur, Sheila Chutskoff is the founder of oranj fitness, as well as a yoga instructor, public speaking guru and goal coach. When Sheila graduated from Royal Roads University in 2002, she immediately started working at lululemon athletica what was then a small, privately owned yoga apparel company. In the beginning, lululemon had less than 100 employees and only four stores. Sheila worked with lululemon for more than six years, during which time she helped take it from four stores to over 150. Her blissful lululemon life consisted of managing stores, being the regional marketing manager for Western Canada and working with all of lululemons Olympic athletes. In October 2007 Sheila decided to venture out on her own and achieve her long-time dream opening her own studio oranj fitness. Sheila has spent more than seven years coaching staff and friends on how to achieve their goals. Her true passion is seeing everyone around her succeed in life. A person who is achieving his or her own goals in life is a happier employee, friend and loved one too. In her day-to-day encounters with people, Sheila makes it abundantly clear how much it means to her that she see them succeed.
