Ashleigh Forde

Originally from Perth Australia, Ashleigh moved to Penticton just over a year ago, and is so excited to be part of the Oranj community.

Ashleigh loves yoga! She loves to see her students sweat de-stress and have fun! Ashleigh offers Vinyasa (or flow) Hatha, Yin and Pre-natal Yoga. She feels so fortunate to have trained with many great yoga teachers including Ashtanga yoga master David Swenson, Darren Rhodes, Bernie Clark to name a few.

Ashleigh is also a dance instructor, and danced professionally internationally. Her classes are always creative and fun, working towards peak poses.

Callie Drew

Carey Swales

Carey was born in Penticton and raised in Vancouver, she made her move back to Penticton in 2005 and has been working and teaching in the community since and has never looked back.

Carey's love of group fitness was sparked at the age of 16 when she began attending classes, the pursuit to become a certified instructor soon followed. Teaching fitness quickly became Carey's passion with her fitness career starting in Vancouver in 1990, in 2006 Carey added mat Pilates to her repertoire. She prides herself in offering a well rounded, energetic & fun class with a little something for everyBody. Part of the passion comes from the biggest reward ~ helping participants realize their potential and assisting them in reaching their fitness goals ~ Imagine, Believe, Achieve.

Danni Hyde

Before pursuing her dream of becoming a fitness instructor, Dannielle completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree and Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of British Columbia Kelowna. She moved back to her hometown in Penticton with husband and became a mother to three children, including twins. Finding time to get in shape became difficult until Dannielle tried group fitness classes at a local gym and found her inner calling for health, wellness and adrenaline. She became certified in both spin and group fitness, then developed her unique training style of combining low impact, high intensity exercise moves with energizing music, to make each workout the best it can be for guests.

Danni is passionate about her family, fitness and having a ton of fun while working out!! Hit up one of her Bootcamp or spin classes if you want an intense workout that will leave you breathless and wanting to come back for more!

Jennifer Farnholz

When Jennifer started her yogic path, there was no such thing as lululemon or hot yoga... yoga was something people knew as a fad in the 70's & others talked about it being some sort of religion. For Jennifer, she happened upon yoga accidentally. She had become a bit desperate to find something to help with her developing sclorosis that was forming from an imbalance in muscle strength and rapid body development. Always being very active, she found at the tender age of 16, she was in constant pain and not able to play her competitive sports! She heard about this thing called Yoga through word of mouth and decided to try it out!

The rest, could be said, is history! At 17, she started her first yoga teacher training.  By 19, she was free of all pain and had a thirst for helping others and opening up to knowledge of self.  She never looked back, continuing her training in not only yoga but all things health and wellness orientated as well as becoming a Massage Therapist and Body/Mind balance Practitioner.  Her Yoga training includes but is not limited to: Shi-oki Yoga, Hot Yoga, Yin Yoga, Kids Yoga, Pre/Post natal Yoga, Mind-Less Meditation and creative mind mapping.

Jennifer is a proud and joyous mother of a vibrant and energetic 4yr old daughter, who is the starlight of her life! The two of them enjoy doing yoga, biking, gardening, dancing, skiing, meditation and acroyoga together. Join Jennifer on the mat & explore your practice together at oranj!

Jo Gagné

Jo started walking at 2 yrs old and dancing at 3! She's been dancing ever since. She was born in the Ottawa region and moved to the beautiful Okanagan in 1986. Jo is passionate about sharing her fitness knowledge with her class participants, functional fitness for the 'long haul', good friends, her dog Kooper and of course Conrad - her sweetie:)

Not only was Jo the breath behind Bodies on Power, she is the breath behind our community at oranj. Her passion can be seen in everything we do from way she greets you at the front door, to how she takes you through your booty shaking rockstar class, to how you're feeling two days after the fact!  Jo cares more about you than you'll know - but there's only one way to find out... it's time to get to her class!

Kim Gladwin

Yoga has been a part of Kim's life for over 10 years.  In 2013, she completed her 250 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher training with Yoga Passage in Calgary and has since added a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher training with South Okanagan Yoga Academy here in Penticton. Kim knows and loves that we're continuous students, and values her teachings from both her teachers and her students!
Kim strives to provide options to suit every body type / style in a fun and lighthearted atmosphere.  She lives up to the oranj philosophy "don't take yourself too seriously" and you're sure to smile or laugh at least once in your 60 minutes with her! 

Kim lives in Naramata with her husband Mike, and when she's not on the mat can be found exploring the KVR trail or indulging in her guilty pleasure... watching trashy reality tv!  Join Kim for a class to expand your practice and learn a little about yourself along the way!

Launa Stocker

Launa has been a fitness enthusiast and motivator since the 1980’s when she began her career as a group fitness leader and later went on to certify as a personal trainer then a Pilates, Barre, Pound.Rockout.Workout instructor and is very excited about her most recent addition to her resume, as an Oranj Spin Instructor. She is passionate about creating a dynamic workout environment with a big emphasis on being safe while having fun.

Launa believes in having a balanced lifestyle that encompasses all dimensions of health and wellness and she loves to see her participants challenge themselves to reach their own personal health and fitness goals.
Launa enjoys spending time with her three young adult children and you can often see her walking her dog Joey, riding her bike on the KVR Trail with her hubby Gary or paddle boarding on beautiful Okanagan Lake.

Louise Blais

Currently teaching in the Human Kinetics program at Okanagan College, Louise has worked in the Fitness Industry in a variety of capacities for the last 35 years. She is a certified Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, Yoga Instructor and TRX Instructor. A passionate educator, Louise owns and operates Wellness Speaks, a company providing wellness education to individuals and corporations. Louise is also the Educator for Canadian Fitness Education Services in the South Okanagan, providing certification education for Group Exercise Instructors and Personal Trainers.
Louise's strength lies in simplifying health information and sharing it in a fun, humorous and motivating message. If she isn't in a studio or a classroom, she is on her bike! A competitive mountain biker, another of Louise's passions is getting more women on bikes. In 2014 she started She Rides Penticton, a women's only road cycling group based here in Penticton. In 2015 she was awarded the Promotion Plus Leadership Award by BC Games recognizing the impact she has had on getting more women involved in physical activity. Her life mission is to simplify movement and simply get more people moving.
Louise's classes will inspire you to find the best version of yourself - both physically and mentally.

Marnie Mennell

Marnie was sold on group fitness since attending her first class...  often telling the story of her dad taking her to step classes when she was just 13 years old and rocking out with all the adults! 
Marnie has been teaching fitness for over 15 years now.  She started teaching in Vancouver then moved to the Similkameen Valley where she began practicing yoga and continued teaching a variety of fitness classes in the community. Since moving to Penticton 6 years ago Marnie has continued to share her light with others. She is also a high school Foods and Nutrition teacher in Summerland, and truly believes nutrition goes hand in hand with fitness and mental well-being.
Teaching others how to adequately fuel and take care of their bodies is Marnie's passion. A quote given to Marnie recently by a good friend is an indication of what she believes in. 'If you want to give light to others, you have to glow yourself'.

Michael Bowling

Michael came to the practice of Yoga through a strong desire to find personal healing. In 2008, he began his journey with Hatha, soon discovered and fell in love with Yin, then Restorative Yoga, and eventually became thunderstruck by the practice of Kundalini Yoga.
Michael took his 200 hr teacher training program through KRI, and is always exploring new opportunities to grow with his practice. Michael has a background in holding space for healing, and teaches a series of holistic healing workshops throughout the Okanagan Valley. At oranj Michael teaches a warm restorative class on Thursday evenings, and a warm detox class on Sunday mornings. Michael loves to be in the great outdoors; camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking, and rock climbing are some of his favourite hobbies.  Join him in class for a grounding practice that will leave you feeling centred, calm, and deeply at peace.

Michelle Rupitz

Michelle is a dancer turned yogi after finding the practice 9 years ago at our affiliate Oranj studio in Kelowna. She has achieved her 200hr Alliance Certification from Oranj and is delighted to bring her passion for dance and yoga to the classroom. Michelle was born and raised in Penticton and loves everything about living in this great place, especially now that her dream of having an Oranj here has come true.

In her free time you can find her in yoga class, enjoying the outdoors on her bike, sipping wine, and making jewelry. At the studio she teaches Rise and Shine Flow, Hot Yoga Barre, and Deep and Gentle Easy Yoga. Michelle truly believes yoga is for every body and can’t wait to share her love of the practice with anyone and everyone.

Rhonda Van Der Veer

When Rhonda is not helping people become happier and more active, she loves being outside biking and walking the trails, listening to the birds and the trees. Her love of animals helps keep Rhonda grounded and her passion for exercise helps keep her strong. If Rhonda were asked to sum up her philosophy on health and wellness in a quote, it’d have to be a line from Samuel Johnson: “Clear your mind of can’t.” Positivity and enthusiasm are the keys. She has always been interested in fitness and in living a healthy lifestyle but Rhonda thinks it was after completing the Boston Marathon, in 2005, that her interest turned to passion. Rhonda had set a seemingly impossible goal and worked hard to achieve it. She was proud of herself and became motivated to help others feel that same sense of accomplishment.

In subsequent years, working with a variety of people, training methods and training systems, it’s become clear that her favourite type of workout is one that challenges the entire body - a functional workout that she can share with as many people as possible. Rhonda likes the TRX system for that reason. It provides an unlimited, personalized challenge and it’s easy to get started. It’s a great way to promote functional fitness at any level.

Rhonda feels blessed to work with so many positive, enthusiastic people; people who push themselves to be better and who know that wellness flows from the inside out. She has learned so much from her clients over the years and will put into practice these lessons for many years to come.

Sarah Mayes

Sarah is a born and bred Penticton Girl! Her childhood and adolescence was filled with all things musical: ballet, jazz dance, piano and acting lessons. In 2005, she began her journey to becoming a certified Group Fitness Instructor through CFES & BCRPA and started teaching salsa dance classes. Sarah fell head over heels for the “high” of leading classes and learned to teach a buffet of fitness classes from aerobics to step, weight training to cardio intervals, TRX to BOSU. Her classes are described as fresh, energizing and balanced with a host of options to appeal to the beginner or injured and advanced fitness aficionado alike. ‘Studio Life’ is definitely Sarah’s dream job with its motivating beats, movement and socializing.

Some of Sarah's greatest joys outside the studio are hiking/biking adventures with her guy, Q.T with friends/family sampling her new fave restaurants, paddle boarding, adrenaline chasing, travel (ask her about Hawaii at your own risk!) as well as time with her Shih Tzu fur child: Peanut. As Assistant Manager/Group Fitness Leader at Oranj Express you will see her often in her natural habitat: sharing and laughing with our guests.

Sheila Chutskoff

A born entrepreneur, Sheila Chutskoff is the founder of oranj fitness, as well as a yoga instructor, public speaking guru and goal coach. She was born and raised in South Slocan BC.  When Sheila graduated from Royal Roads University in 2002, she immediately started working at lululemon athletica – what was then a small, privately owned yoga apparel company. In the beginning, lululemon had less than 100 employees and only four stores. Sheila worked with lululemon for more than six years, during which time she helped take it from four stores to over 150. Her blissful lululemon life consisted of managing stores, being the regional marketing manager for Western Canada and working with all of lululemon’s Olympic athletes. In October 2007 Sheila decided to venture out on her own and achieve her long-time dream opening her own studio – oranj fitness. Sheila has spent more than fifteen years coaching staff and friends on how to achieve their goals. Her true passion is seeing everyone around her succeed in life. A person who is achieving his or her own goals in life is a happier employee, friend and loved one too. In her day-to-day encounters with people, Sheila makes it abundantly clear how much it means to her that she see them succeed.
